Jiamin Xu

Jiamin Xu is currently a PhD candidate and research assistant at the Department of Materials at Imperial College London, under the guidance of Prof. Fang Xie and Prof. Mary Ryan. His research encompasses the synthesis and fabrication of novel nanomaterials, focusing on their applications in energy and life sciences. His primary research interests revolve around the development of plasmonic-enhanced ultra-bright lanthanide-induced Near Infrared second (NIR-II) downconversion nanoparticles, aimed at enabling deep-tissue imaging and non-invasive photoluminescence biosensing. Additionally, Jiamin has actively contributed to collaborative research projects, including investigations on plasmonic-enhanced metal oxide semiconductor composite photoelectrodes for improved water-splitting performance.
