CPLAS researchers win Royal Society of Chemistry awards.

Congratulations to  Professor Andy Beale and Professor Chris Hardacre from the Catalysis Hub for winning Royal Society of Chemistry awards.

Andy won the Materials Chemistry Division mid-career Award: Peter Day Award for the development of novel methodologies using bright light sources to identify active species in catalysis and energy storage.

Andy and his team will be instrumental in CPLAS’ goals to produce plasmo-catalytic applications for environmental purposes.

‘Still after all of these years it is exciting to be one of the first pairs of eyes to see something for the first time.’
Professor Andrew Beale

Chris won the Tilden Prize for outstanding contributions to the areas of liquid and gas phase heterogeneous catalysis.

Chris and his team will be instrumental in CPLAS’ goals across multiple workpackages.

‘Without chemistry, we cannot achieve our aim to reduce the effects of climate change and our dependence on fossil fuels.’ Professor Christopher Hardacre.
