CPLAS researchers spark curiosity at the Invention Rooms
Tags: outreach, publicengagement
CPLAS researchers, alongside colleagues at the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN), recently transformed the Invention Rooms at Imperial College London into a quantum wonderland. The outreach event, aimed at families in White City, offered an exciting glimpse into the fascinating world of quantum physics through interactive demonstrations and creative activities.
The event featured a series of engaging demonstrations to make complex quantum concepts accessible to all ages. Visitors had the opportunity to witness firsthand some of the mind-bending principles that govern the quantum realm, sparking curiosity and wonder among attendees. The demonstrations are part of Quantum Leaps, a STEM Learning-funded LCN Project that aims to inspire and educate the next generation of scientists.
Quantum Pong, presented by Dr Simão Meneses João from Imperial, offered a playful exploration of wave-particle duality. Dries Marice from King’s demonstration focused on Nanostructures and Light and his work on Raman spectroscopy.
